Fire in shisha bar: fire department rescues five people
The fire department has rescued five people in a fire in a shisha bar in Bremen. When the emergency services arrived early on Sunday morning, parts of the establishment were already in flames, according to the fire department. Five people, including a small child, were rescued from a corridor in the building. The fire was extinguished after around an hour. 28 people were examined in a large-capacity ambulance, a converted bus. Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution. It was initially unclear whether and how seriously they were injured.
The incident served as a reminder of the importance of having functional emergency exits in public places. Despite the swift actions of the fire department, further emergencies could have been prevented with proper fire safety measures.
