Fire in semi-detached house: power failure and extensive damage
The fire on the upper floor of a semi-detached house in Upper Franconia caused an estimated six-figure sum of damage. For safety reasons, the local energy supplier cut the power supply to the affected district of Redwitz an der Rodach (district of Lichtenfels) for several hours, according to the police.
A witness noticed flames on the upper floor of the semi-detached house on Thursday morning and called the emergency services. The fire department was unable to prevent the fire from spreading to the roof truss section of the other half of the house. A police spokeswoman said that a female firefighter suffered minor injuries during the extinguishing work. It initially remained unclear how the fire started.
