In the small town of Könnern northwest of Halle, a fire broke out at a care home on a Saturday morning. The fire department was on site with a large contingent, according to the Integrated Control Room Salzlandkreis on request on Saturday. The entire roof structure was on fire. At least 50 people were reportedly evacuated to safety. A woman was taken to the hospital due to burns.

The cause of the fire was initially unclear. According to reports, a warning was issued due to heavy smoke development and massive traffic disruptions in the city area. Several media had reported on this beforehand.

The care home where the fire occurred is located in Germany, specifically in the small town of Könnern. The fire department from Saxony-Anhalt handled the situation, attending with a significant team to combat the blaze. Despite the residential facility being in a rural area, the heavy smoke and potential danger resulted in traffic disruptions in the vicinity. Regrettably, a senior woman was injured during the incident and needed hospitalization due to burns.
