Bernkastel-Wittlich district - Fire in biogas plant: six-figure damage

A biogas plant in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district has caught fire at night on Wednesday. The fire started in the engine room of the plant, according to the police. The cause is suspected to be a technical defect based on initial investigations. The fire department prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings. The firefighting efforts lasted several hours. The damage is estimated to be in the six-figure range according to initial estimates.
