In the camp of a firewood dealer in Baumholder (Birkenfeld district), there was a fire and estimated damages of approximately 100,000 euros were incurred on a Sunday. Emergency personnel from different fire departments totaling around 150 individuals were enlisted to put out the fire. The police and two ambulances were also present on the scene. The extinguishing efforts concluded in the afternoon, with just a fire watch remaining on site. A definitive cause for the fire was yet to be identified.
