Brokdorf - Fire damper in shutdown nuclear power plant defective
There have been problems with a fire damper at the Brokdorf nuclear power plant in Schleswig-Holstein, which has been shut down. According to the Schleswig-Holstein Energy Ministry on Wednesday, it did not close automatically during tests. The flap was cleaned and oiled. It then worked again.
According to the ministry, there was no impact on the post-operation or fire protection of the plant. The reactor on the Elbe was finally shut down at the end of 2021 and has been in post-operation since then. The reactor has been unloaded and all fuel elements are in the spent fuel pool.
