A devastating fire broke out in a stable located in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen, causing damages speculated to be in the millions of euros. The cause of the blaze remains unclear, although initial investigations pointed towards a lightning strike hitting the structure in Rinchnach on Sunday morning. More recently, however, evidence suggests a technical glitch might be to blame.

The stable had been burning throughout the night and into Sunday morning, residents nearby noticed the inferno and promptly freed pigs and cows from the building. Tragically, three people were injured amidst the chaos, including the 39-year-old farmer. The on-site response was significant, with 250 emergency services in attendance. The current assessment of the damages is several million euros.
