Police estimate millions in damages after warehouse fire in Ahrweiler district. On Monday evening, two warehouses belonging to two companies in Höningen caught fire for unknown reasons, as reported by the police. Emergency services observed heavy smoke and a 200-meter tall dark smoke column. Firefighters extinguished both warehouses, which were fully engulfed in flames, throughout the night.

One of the warehouses housed a car repair shop, according to the police. No further details were provided about the other. The police estimate damages to be in the lower million range. No injuries were reported. The adjacent federal road B257 was closed in the affected area but has since been reopened, according to police.

The intense flames from the warehouse fire illuminated the night sky, creating an eerie spectacle. Despite the heroic efforts of the firefighters, the fire's ferocityleft both warehouses completely charred and unrecognizable.
