- Fire at railway station - police suspect attack

Police suspect a political attack in the cable fire at Deutsche Bahn in Berlin. As of now, there is evidence of a corresponding motivation, a police spokesperson said. The state protection department is continuing to investigate the case.

A claim of responsibility posted on a left-wing internet platform is also being considered. Investigators believe it came from the left-wing scene. However, from the police's perspective, it is not an "authentic confession" as known from other incidents.

Due to the fire in a cable shaft in Berlin, there are still restrictions in long-distance, regional, and S-Bahn traffic in the capital. However, trains should run regularly again from Wednesday morning, a Deutsche Bahn spokesperson said. Currently, damaged cables are being replaced and tested for functionality.

The level of knowledge about the claim of responsibility for the cable fire is still under investigation by the police. Despite it originating from a left-wing scene, it hasn't been confirmed as an authentic confession.

The level of disruption in Berlin's transport system due to the cable fire is still significant, with restrictions in long-distance, regional, and S-Bahn traffic.
