World Heritage Site - Fire at historic building: damage in the millions

At the fire of the historical "House Four Towers" in Bad Ems, a damage in the seven-figure range has occurred. This was reported by initial police estimations.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is particularly challenging. Experts will also be involved. Investigations will be conducted in all directions, it was stated. Further statements cannot be made yet. The police urged witnesses to come forward.

Early on Wednesday morning, the historical building, which is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage of the city, had caught fire for unknown reasons. No one was injured.

The damage to the "House Four Towers" is estimated to be within the million-range, requiring significant resources for restoration. Ems services were also called to the scene to ensure no one was harmed due to smoke inhalation or other related incidents. The Police are still seeking information from the public, as their investigation into the origin of the fire in the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Bad Ems continues.
