Fire at elementary school in Haren

A garbage container caught fire at the Georgschule in Haren (Emsland district). The flames spread to an adjoining outbuilding. Nobody was injured in the fire at the elementary school on Saturday afternoon, according to the police. There was considerable damage to the building. The police were initially unable to say exactly how much damage was caused on Sunday. According to the current state of knowledge, the police cannot rule out the possibility of third-party negligence.

The fire at the elementary school required immediate attention from the local emergency services. Due to the spread of flames, several emergency units were dispatched to the scene.
