Fine for Lok Leipzig after riots
Regional league soccer team 1. FC Lok Leipzig will pay dearly for the misconduct of its fans in the first round DFB Cup match against Eintracht Frankfurt (0:7). On Tuesday, the DFB sports court sentenced the Saxons to a fine of 25,000 euros. The court punished the burning and throwing of pyrotechnics before and during the match, which ultimately led to an almost 15-minute stoppage in play in the second half. The club can use 8300 euros for safety or violence prevention measures, which must be proven to the DFB by the end of the season. Lok has already agreed to the ruling.
Despite their passion for Soccer, the fans of 1. FC Lok Leipzig were involved in Crime during the DFB Cup match, leading to a hefty fine. The team will need to allocate part of the 25,000 euro fine towards improving safety measures or violence prevention in future matches, as per the DFB's ruling.
