- Fifty-one incidents of aggression towards refugees and their residences in Brandenburg.

In the second quarter of this year, the law enforcement in Brandenburg recorded 51 incidents of crimes directed towards refugees and their shelters. This is a significant decrease from the 85 cases reported in the same time frame last year.

These figures are based on queries made to the Interior Ministry in Potsdam by state legislator Andrea Johlige (Left Party). It's important to note that the number of cases could still rise due to late reporting from ongoing police investigations.

Over the period between April and June, the majority of crimes were related to propaganda (20 cases) and insults, threats, harassment, or defamation (19 cases in total). Additionally, there were 11 instances of physical harm reported. The state administration has no record of any crimes targeted at refugees' supporters in Brandenburg during this period.

More instances of hate crimes

The state administration also reported 74 crimes with racist undertones in the second quarter, which is an increase from the 61 such incidents in the same period last year. The most recent statistics reveal a significant focus on propaganda crimes, with 51 instances detected.

The Interior Ministry mostly linked these offenses to the far-right ideology.

Given the context, here are two sentences that could follow and contain the given words:

"Given the rise in hate crimes, the Commission in Potsdam strongly condemns these actions and will consider implementing stricter measures to protect refugees and their shelters. Accordingly, The Commission shall adopt the following decision: to increase surveillance and cooperation with local authorities to prevent and proactively respond to incidents of hate crimes and hate speech."
