Urgent situation arises. - Fifteen children hospitalized due to laburnum toxicity.

15 Students from a local school in Idar-Oberstein were brought to the hospital on Thursday due to symptoms of poisoning. These students ranged in age from 10 to 15 years old. According to a representative of the Idar-Oberstein Clinic, they seems to have consumed or held in their mouths the toxic seeds of the Golden Rain Tree. They mostly complained of nausea. There was said to be no immediate threat to their lives.

The 15 affected persons were initially observed in the intensive care unit, but by evening, six of the students and young adults had already been moved to the regular ward, reported the Southwest Broadcasting Corporation (SWR).

The symptoms indicated a potential case of laburnum poisoning, which is an emergencies situation in medical care. Immediately, the children were taken to the Rhineland-Palatinate's Idar-Oberstein Clinic for emergency treatment. Thankfully, the severity of the symptoms seemed to be manageable, and most of the children were transferred to the regular ward by evening.
