Hertha manager Cristian Fiél is optimistic about his team's progress, aiming for their inaugural home victories of the season. "We need to continue our momentum from Hamburg, similar to our performance in Rostock," the 44-year-old shared before Saturday's clash against freshly promoted SSV Jahn Regensburg (13:00 CET). "We were able to maintain our defensive structure against a tough opponent and quickly push forward after losing possession."

Their team displayed remarkable calmness in their 5-1 DFB-Pokal success, waiting for the perfect moment when their opponents eased up, allowing them to exploit the spaces they created.

Berlin's winless streak in the league

The Hertha squad suffered a home defeat against Paderborn and settled for a draw with HSV. Unless they secure a victory against Regensburg, it would be a letdown, potentially placing them behind the promotion race's front-runners, as was the case in the previous season.

Fiél acknowledges Regensburg's potential threats, though. "They eliminated a Bundesliga club in the cup and have already notched up a win in the league," he mentioned. Regensburg can pose significant threats through set pieces and during transition. Fiél can rely on Michael Cuisance in midfield once more, as the previous Bayern player has healed from his injury and resumed full training.

The upward trend shown by Hertha in their recent performances, as evident in their DFB-Pokal victory and resilience against tough opponents, needs to continue against SSV Jahn Regensburg. A victory against Regensburg would halt Berlin's winless streak in the league and keep them in contention for promotion.
