Fewer asylum seekers: State distributes fewer to the municipalities
From December 12, Rhineland-Palatinate will only distribute an average of 350 asylum seekers per week to the municipalities - currently there are 550. "The number of people seeking asylum in the state is currently declining," said Integration Minister Katharina Binz in Mainz on Wednesday. As a result, fewer people will be distributed from the state's own reception facilities to the municipalities in December. SWR had first reported this. Last week, the state took in 269 asylum seekers, compared to more than 547 at the end of October, which was twice as many.
Due to the decline in asylum seekers in Rhineland-Palatinate, foreigners will receive fewer placements in municipalities starting December 12. This shift in distribution is a consequence of the reduced number of asylum applications in the state, as noted by Integration Minister Katharina Binz.
