Elbe navigation - Ferry company Hadag has taken delivery of new hybrid vessel

The Hamburg ferry operator Hadag has received a so-called hybrid ship. The ferry "Neuland" will be gradually put into service, according to the subsidiary of the municipal transport company Hamburger Hochbahn. The "Neuland" is equipped with batteries that enable emission-free maneuvering in the harbor. In addition, the ship has a combustion engine. According to Hadag, the new ship can accommodate up to 250 passengers. Two more hybrid ferries are scheduled to follow.

The introduction of the hybrid ship "Neuland" by Hadag in Hamburg could potentially reduce traffic congestion in the city's busy ports, as it can maneuver emission-free in the harbor. Furthermore, the shipping industry in Hamburg could benefit from this innovation, as it promotes eco-friendly shipping methods.
