- Fernandes transfers on loan from Mainz to French club
Bundesliga team Mainz 05 has temporarily handed over defender Edimilson Fernandes to Ligue 1 team Stade Brest for the ongoing season. The team made this announcement.
At 28 years old, Fernandes participated in 23 competitive matches for Mainz last season. However, he wasn't a regular starter during the initial stages of this term. Mainz's sporting director, Christian Heidel, stated in a release, "Edimilson Fernandes asked for this loan to increase his playing opportunities."
The first FSV Mainz 05 was Edimilson Fernandes's team before he was loaned out. Despite playing 23 matches last season, Fernandes struggled to secure a regular starting position this term.
