In their inaugural Bundesliga 2 match, Union Berlin's female squad ended up in a stalemate. With a bustling crowd of 5,508 spectators at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei, the recently promoted team struggled to secure more than a 2:2 (2:1) tie against Hamburger SV.
Initially, Hamburger SV caught Union Berlin off guard, converting a penalty after a foul in the box, thanks to Mia Büchele (8th minute). Later, Dina Orschmann responded swiftly with an equalizer (22nd minute). Just a few minutes after, her twin sister Katja Orschmann put the home side in the lead for the first time.
