The Federal Police apprehended a 42-year-old man at Hamburg-Harburg station who was suspected of sexually harassing and assaulting a woman shortly before. The man, according to the investigation, allegedly grabbed the 38-year-old's buttocks and then between her legs as she was exiting a regional train on Saturday afternoon, the Federal Police reported.

When the woman confronted the man, he allegedly punched her in the face. Fellow passengers alerted a Federal Police patrol on the platform. The officers apprehended the man, who admitted to the crime. After verifying his identity, the known-to-police suspect was released. The officers initiated criminal proceedings for suspected sexual harassment and assault. The 38-year-old declined medical treatment from an ambulance crew.

The man's actions were classified as a serious form of criminal harassment. The man's admission to the crime served as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
