FDP state parliamentary group elects Knell and Naas as dual leadership

The Hessian FDP parliamentary group is to be led by a dual leadership for the first time. The two MPs Wiebke Knell and Stefan Naas were elected as the new chairpersons for the coming parliamentary term, as the parliamentary group announced in Wiesbaden on Wednesday. The previous chairperson René Rock was nominated as Vice-President of the Hessian state parliament.

The parliament will be constituted on January 18, 2024. The FDP narrowly won re-entry in the election on October 8 with five percent. It will be represented by eight members in the future state parliament. Oliver Stirböck was reportedly elected as Parliamentary Secretary.

The FDP's dual leadership in the Hessian Parliament consists of Wiebke Knell and Stefan Naas, who were elected by the state parliamentary group. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) will continue to have a strong presence in the Parliament with eight representatives, including Oliver Stirböck as the Parliamentary Secretary.
