FDP praises coalition and hopes for more venture capital
Two and a half years after the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt, the FDP parliamentary group has drawn a positive conclusion about the work of the black-red-yellow coalition. The cooperation is based on trust and the focus is not on ideologies but on factual arguments, said the Liberal parliamentary group leader, Andreas Silbersack, on Wednesday in Magdeburg. This is one of the reasons for the coalition's success.
After ten years of extra-parliamentary opposition, the FDP made the leap back into the state parliament in the state elections in June 2021. Three months later, a black-red-yellow alliance began work. The Liberals replaced the Greens in the state government.
Silbersack referred to the improvements achieved in the expansion of mobile communications, the digitalization of schools, universities and administration as well as the establishment of companies. Silbersack said that the opportunity must now be seized to attract more private venture capital to Saxony-Anhalt. The state should offer first-class conditions for start-ups.
In view of the decreasing financial leeway in the coming years, Silbersack spoke out in favor of adhering to the debt brake. The fact that personnel costs now account for a third of expenditure in the state budget is too much, he said. According to Silbersack, more digitalization and less bureaucracy are needed in order to streamline processes.
The FDP's parliamentary group, led by Andreas Silbersack, commends the collaboration in the black-red-yellow coalition in Saxony-Anhalt, highlighting its success due to a focus on factual arguments and trust between parties. Furthermore, Silbersack advocates for attracting more private venture capital to the state by providing excellent conditions for start-ups.
