FC St. Pauli has a new vice president. At the general meeting of the second-division soccer club on Thursday evening at the Hamburg Congress Centrum, Hanna Obersteller was elected to the office with 97.4 percent of the votes of the 645 members present. She succeeds Carsten Höltkemeyer. He had resigned his post in June for professional reasons.
Born in 1982, Obersteller is considered a proven financial expert. The former handball player is responsible for finance and organization on the Executive Board. She is looking forward to "supporting the club in its unique combination of professional soccer and social commitment with my experience as CFO in an international corporate environment," said Obersteller.
Financial expertise is in demand on the Executive Board following the balance sheet for the 2022/23 financial year. Turnover rose to a record 62 million euros. However, the club posted a loss of 4.9 million euros. In her role, Obersteller will work closely with the new commercial director Wilken Engelbracht.
