FC Nürnberg to loan Wintzheimer to Essen

Manuel Wintzheimer and 1. FC Nuremberg - not a success story. The striker leaves the Franconians again, this time on loan.

  1. FC Nuremberg loans striker Manuel Wintzheimer to third-tier side Rot-Weiss Essen just before their second division season kick-off.

The Franconians announced that the 25-year-old will spend the upcoming season with the Essen-based club. Wintzheimer joined Nuremberg from Hamburger SV in the summer of 2022 but failed to establish himself in the team. He was subsequently loaned out to Eintracht Braunschweig and Arminia Bielefeld. In total, Wintzheimer appeared in 15 matches for the club across all competitions, scoring only once. 1. FC Nuremberg, under coach Miroslav Klose, will commence their new second division campaign away at Karlsruher SC on Saturday (13:00 CET, live on Sky).

The first team Wintzheimer had a brief stint with, before his loan to Rot-Weiss Essen, was FC Nürnberg. Despite being loaned out to other clubs, he hasn't managed to find a permanent place in FC Nürnberg's squad.
