1. FC Nuremberg loans defender Jannes Horn (27) to MLS' St. Louis City for a season. The North American soccer league club has also secured an option to buy the defender until the end of June 2026. Horn joins former Nuremberg players Cedric Teuchert and Eduard Loewen, as well as Roman Burki and Marcel Hartel, in St. Louis.

Horn had recently only been training with Nuremberg's U23 team. The defender joined Nuremberg on loan from VfL Bochum in January 2023 before being signed permanently the following summer. Horn played in 37 competitive games for the club.

"Jannes' versatility will be a great addition to the team," said St. Louis' German sporting director, Lutz Pfannenstiel. "He's an aggressive left-back who handles the ball well, which suits our style of play. His ability to also play in central defense makes him dynamic and adds flexibility to our defense."

After securing Horn, St. Louis City now has several German talents in their squad, including Second Bundesliga veterans. This season, Horn will continue honing his skills in a different league, contributing to Second Bundesliga experience in MLS.
