Bundesliga - FC Bayern's women's soccer team surprisingly slip up in Nuremberg

FC Bayern 's women's soccer team surprisingly dropped points in the Bundesliga. The German champions were held to a 1:1 (1:0) draw by newly promoted 1. FC Nürnberg on Sunday evening. National striker Lea Schüller's early lead (11th minute) was equalized by Medina Desic (72nd minute) from the penalty spot. VfL Wolfsburg can take over the lead in the table at the end of matchday 10 as a result of Munich's draw at the penultimate team in the table. A win on Monday evening against Werder Bremen (7.30 pm/DAZN) is a prerequisite.

Bayern were not helped at the Max-Morlock-Stadion by the return of playmaker Pernille Harder, who came on as a second-half substitute after a long injury lay-off. After captain Glodis Viggosdottir was awarded a penalty, Giulia Gwinn and Jovana Damnjanovic missed the best chances to win the game in the closing stages.

Coach Alexander Straus' team now have the chance to make amends before Christmas. In the Champions League, Munich face Ajax Amsterdam on Wednesday (18:45/DAZN). After three matchdays, FC Bayern (5 points) lead Group C just ahead of AS Roma, Ajax (4 each) and Paris Saint-Germain (3).
