FC Bayern with Kimmich and Goretzka
Coach Thomas Tuchel makes one change to the Munich team for FC Bayern's Champions League match against Galatasaray Istanbul compared to the 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund. Bundesliga international Joshua Kimmich, who is suspended in the Bundesliga, will start in midfield alongside Leon Goretzka at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening. Konrad Laimer has to sit on the bench.
Tuchel had already announced on Tuesday that the 28-year-old Kimmich would start again despite the good performance of the Laimer/Goretzka duo. The Bayern coach had described Kimmich as a "fixed point". Attacker Thomas Müller is also back on the bench for the time being. As against BVB, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman and Harry Kane will once again start in attack.
Regular goalkeeper Fernando Muslera can start for the Turkish champions. The 37-year-old captain had been doubtful due to an elbow injury. Bayern won the first leg in Turkey two weeks ago 3:1. Another win would definitely see the German record champions through to the round of 16 after the fourth matchday.
In the Champions League match, FC Bayern Munich will face Galatasaray Istanbul with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka in midfield, replacing Konrad Laimer, as Coach Thomas Tuchel opts for Kimmich's return. Galatasaray could potentially benefit from the presence of regular goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, who has recovered from an elbow injury.
