FC Bayern with clear record sales: profit also increases
FC Bayern Munich has once again presented its members with good financial figures and announced a record turnover for the past championship season. This rose by 28 percent to 854.2 million euros. "This is an extraordinary achievement," said CFO Michael Diederich on Sunday.
Group profit before taxes more than tripled in the 2022/23 financial year, rising from EUR 17.1 million to EUR 54.5 million, according to the club. The Group's net profit for the year rose to 35.7 million euros, an increase of 23 million euros compared to the previous season.
At the annual general meeting in Munich, the new CFO Diederich referred to the fixed deposit account, which was repeatedly mentioned and which was shaped by the long-time leader Uli Hoeneß. "Not a day goes by when I'm not asked about this fixed deposit account. It's my daily companion," said Diederich.
"As a former banker, I was allowed to watch over it and as the current CFO, I make sure that it grows and flourishes," said Diederich. He promised: "Everything we generate is invested in the sport. For us, it's always about sport first and foremost. Our claim remains: national and international top class. Our most important return on investment is titles."
The club also has a record 316,000 members. 1,780 of them were present at the meeting on Sunday. "In economic terms, FC Bayern is once again in an outstanding position," said President Herbert Hainer. "With key figures like these, the future can come - in soccer as in basketball."
Diederich emphasized the impressive equity base of 536 million euros. "A beacon in the entire soccer world - there is no other European club with this level of equity," said Diederich: "And I can tell you from my life as a banker that I hardly know any companies of this size that have such a cushion."
In the 2022/23 Bundesliga season, FC Bayern Munich exceeded their sales record, with soccer revenue reaching 854.2 million euros. During the club's Annual General Meeting, the new CFO, Michael Diederich, discussed the club's fixed deposit account, a topic often questioned due to its history with former leader Uli Hoeneß.
