German top-flight league - FC Bayern reportedly inching towards securing Palhinha's transfer.

After the late transfer of João Palhinha collapsed last year, Bayern Munich is said to be keen on signing the Portuguese player again. Reports suggest that negotiations between Bayern and Palhinha's club, Fulham, are already at an advanced stage. There's a possibility of an agreement being reached before the commencement of the European Championship.

No official statements have been made yet. Both "Kicker" and "Abendzeitung" also reported on this potential deal. It is mentioned that the player and Munich's new coach Vincent Kompany have already held talks.

Palhinha, who is currently 28, has a contract with Fulham in the Premier League that runs until June 2028. Sky reports that a release fee of up to 45 million euros would need to be paid - a long-term contract awaits the defensive midfielder at the Säbener Straße.

In the summer of 2023, Palhinha was a primary target for the former Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel. It seemed that the move would finally go through with Palhinha already in Munich, undergoing the required medical examinations. However, at the last moment, Fulham backed out, denying Tuchel his sought-after "Holding Six", a positional player whom the coach had been desperate for and who was supposed to be Palhinha, a player who would fit his playing system perfectly.
