Bundesliga - FC Bayern faces "big challenge" against VfB Stuttgart

FC Bayern Munich face a tricky task in their last home game of the year. The German soccer champions will host third-placed VfB Stuttgart, who are just one point behind them, in the Bundesliga top match on Sunday (7.30pm). A week after the 5-1 defeat in Frankfurt, the Munich side will be looking to keep up with leaders Bayer Leverkusen and shake off Stuttgart at the same time with a win in their own stadium.

"We want to show a reaction after the defeat in the league," said coach Thomas Tuchel. The Bayern coach is expecting a real top match at the end of matchday 15. "It's a very difficult opponent because Stuttgart do it very well. That's why it's a big challenge," said Tuchel about the in-form VfB. Bayern are four points behind Leverkusen, but still have a catch-up game against Union Berlin.

Tuchel will have to replace Kingsley Coman in attack. The Frenchman injured his calf shortly after scoring the winning goal in last Wednesday's 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League. He is out with a torn muscle fiber. Thomas Müller could come into the Munich starting eleven for Coman. Bayern will then host VfL Wolfsburg next Wednesday before the short winter break.
