Soccer - FC Bayern ends Champions League group with a classic

FC Bayern Munich will conclude the group stage of the Champions League on Tuesday (21:00) in England with a soccer classic. The German champions have already been confirmed as group winners and participants in the round of 16 before their final preliminary round match against Manchester United. Nevertheless, the game at Old Trafford is of great importance to coach Thomas Tuchel and his players after the 5-1 defeat in the Bundesliga against Eintracht Frankfurt.

"We need a reaction - absolutely," said Tuchel. The focus will be on Harry Kane. The England captain will be making his first appearance in a Bayern shirt in his home country following his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Munich. "This is certainly a special game for him," said Bayern's sporting director Christoph Freund.

Manchester United must win the home game to possibly move up from fourth to second place on the final matchday of Group A and join Bayern in the round of 16. Bayern won the first leg in Munich 4-3 and the draw for the round of 16 will take place next Monday.
