Soccer - FC Bayern brings Sieb back - loan deal with Mainz
FC Bayern München have recalled striker Armindo Sieb from SpVgg Greuther Fürth and immediately loaned him out to 1st FSV Mainz 05 for two years. The German football record champions made use of a buy-back option with the 21-year-old. Sieb joined Fürth in the summer of 2022 from Bayern, and Munich announced a new contract with him until June 30, 2027.
The forward, who joined Bayern from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's youth academy in the summer of 2020, has developed strongly in Franconia. He was the top scorer for the Kleeblatt-club last season with twelve goals. At the Bundesliga club Mainz, he is now set to take the next step forward.
"We have closely followed Armindo in Fürth for the past two years. He has developed particularly well in the last season - in his age group, he was one of the top scorers in the Second League in the 2023/24 season," explained Munich's sporting director, Christoph Freund. "Armindo is an extremely fast and aggressive player type. He fits perfectly with Mainz's style of play, and the Bundesliga is the logical next step for him."
