- FC Bayern and Bayer have agreed on Tah's transfer
FC Bayern Munich has reportedly reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of national team player Jonathan Tah (28). As reported by "Kicker", the deal is not yet finalized, but the German football record champions and double winners have supposedly agreed on the basic terms of the transfer. The Bayern are said to pay around 25 million euros in fixed transfer fees, with an additional five million euros in performance-related bonuses.
Tah still has a contract with the team of coach Xabi Alonso until the summer of 2025, but he is reportedly unwilling to extend it and has already agreed to a contract with FC Bayern. Bayer, on the other hand, would like to continue working with the defensive chief, but if an extension is not reached, Tah will be sold to get a transfer fee.
How the transfers of de Ligt and Tah are connected
FC Bayern reportedly wants to sign the defender only after Matthijs de Ligt is sold. Manchester United is said to be the first interested party for the Dutch defender. The Munich club is said to demand 50 million euros in transfer fees.
De Ligt is considered the most lucrative sale candidate from Bayern's central defense. He joined the Isar for around 70 million euros in transfer fees from Juventus Turin two years ago. However, De Ligt has not yet established himself as an undisputed starter at the German football record champions. In Manchester, he would reunite with his former coach at Ajax Amsterdam, Erik ten Hag.
Tah's impending move to FC Bayern Munich could potentially free up space for their desired acquisition of Matthijs de Ligt, as Bayern reportedly wants to sign the Dutch defender after selling De Ligt. Tah's contract with Bayer Leverkusen expires willingly, making his transfer to Bayern more likely.
