It's a first. For the first time, a woman is sitting on the bench as assistant coach at a men's Bundesliga club. FC Augsburg is pursuing only one goal at Union Berlin.

FC Augsburg wants to "fight for every ball" against Union Berlin

FC Augsburg want to continue their unbeaten run under coach Jess Thorup after the international break. The Dane's team will face 1. FC Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday (3.30 pm/Sky). The team from the capital is winless in 14 matches in all competitions. Following the departure of Urs Fischer, they are being coached on an interim basis by U19 coach Marco Grote and U19 co-coach Marie-Louise Eta.

Augsburg have picked up eight points from four games under Thorup, but have never conceded a goal. "We have to be ready to fight for every ball right from the start. Hopefully it will be enough to take three points. That's our goal," said Thorup.

FC Augsburg aims to maintain their impressive form in the Bundesliga, having not lost under coach Jess Thorup in their last four games. Their next challenge is against 1st FC Union Berlin, a team currently on a 14-match winless streak across all competitions.

Despite FC Augsburg's strong defense under Thorup, not conceding a goal in their last four games, they know they'll need to be at their best against a determined Union Berlin side looking to turn their fortune around in the Bundesliga clash on Saturday.
