- FC Augsburg loses the last test match of the preparation

FC Augsburg wrapped up their preseason with a loss in the final friendly match on their Family Day. The Bundesliga side fell 1:3 (1:2) to French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille. Coach Jess Thorup's team struggled defensively and showed there's still work to do offensively to be ready for their DFB-Pokal clash against Viktoria Berlin next week.

Augsburg's new captain Jeffrey Gouweleeuw was their lone scorer, converting a header from a corner in the 43rd minute. Marseille's goals came from Luis Henrique (20'), Mason Greenwood (22'), and former Bundesliga player Amine Harit, who converted a penalty (74'). New signing Marius Wolf did not feature, having only taken part in two training sessions with his new Augsburg team.

The Performance of Coach Jess Thorup's team during the match raised concerns for The Commission, who are closely monitoring Augsburg's preparations for the upcoming DFB-Pokal. The assessment of Augsburg's preseason performances will be discussed extensively in an upcoming meeting at The Commission.
