FC Augsburg has loaned defender Patric Pfeiffer (24) to Swiss champions Young Boys Bern for this season. The Bundesliga club announced that both clubs have agreed to keep the loan fee amount confidential. Pfeiffer joined Augsburg from SV Darmstadt in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer but struggled to secure a regular starting spot. He will now gain valuable playing experience in Switzerland, where he is contractually bound until the end of June 2027.

"Last season, Patric gained his first Bundesliga experience. He has excellent potential to play a significant role for the FCA in the future. After positive discussions with all parties involved, we agreed that a loan to an ambitious club that will play in Europe and sees Patric as a key player is beneficial for both sides at this point," explained Augsburg's sporting director Marinko Jurendic.

Despite his struggles to secure a regular starting spot at FC Augsburg, Patric Pfeiffer's soccer skills were highly regarded. The change of environment in Switzerland, with Young Boys Bern set to compete in Europe, could further enhance his abilities.
