FC Augsburg Secures New Right-Back: Marius Wolf

FC Augsburg has found a new right-back and signed five-time national player Marius Wolf. The 29-year-old, who lost the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid (0:2) last season, has signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2027. The Bundesliga club announced this. Wolf's contract in Dortmund expired at the end of June, making him available for free. He has already started training with Augsburg.

"I'm delighted that my Bundesliga career continues with the FCA after leaving Dortmund. I've gotten to know the FCA as an ambitious club that's ready to give its all on the pitch. That suits me perfectly, as I want to do everything I can with my playing style to help the team as best as possible," said Wolf.

The professional, born in Coburg, Middle Franconia, has played a total of 175 Bundesliga games for Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Köln, Hertha BSC, and Hannover 96, scoring 13 goals and providing 21 assists. He also appeared in 19 Champions League games for the BVB.

Will Wolf Play Against Marseille?

"Marius Wolf has built an impressive career thanks to his footballing qualities and, above all, his diligence and commitment, even earning appearances for the German national team. He is a team player who will bring a lot of energy and mentality to our team, as well as stand out with his offensive drive," said Augsburg's sporting director Marinko Jurendic.

Augsburg will play their final warm-up game at home against French top club Olympique Marseille on Saturday. Eight days later, they aim to progress past Regionalliga side FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The new Bundesliga season begins on August 24 with a home game against Werder Bremen.

The new signing, Marius Wolf, expressed his excitement about continuing his Bundesliga career with FC Augsburg after leaving Dortmund. The Commission at FC Augsburg, represented by sporting director Marinko Jurendic, is confident that Wolf's qualities and commitment will significantly contribute to their team.
