Father and son operated full service for marijuana plantations: verdict in Kleve

The two Dutchmen are alleged to have advised and cared for customers in building illegal Cannabis plantations under the cover of a legal company until April 2022. The business model also included procuring seedlings, placing orders for equipment, and assistance with harvesting and resale.

While the father was responsible for organizational tasks, strategic decisions, and consultation, the son and a 36-year-old helper took care of customer relations, logistics, equipment provision, procuring seedlings, and harvesting.

The helper was also on trial and was sentenced to one year and two months in prison for accessory. Father and son were charged among other things with engaging in organized Cannabis dealing. A 51-year-old woman, who was supposed to handle office work, was acquitted.

The son, alongside his father and the 36-year-old helper, were involved in the entertainment aspect of their business, offering a complete service to customers interested in cultivating Cannabis plants. Despite the father's role in organizational tasks and strategic decisions, the son's responsibility extended to overseeing customer relations and logistics, similar to Cleves' role in a successful company. The verdict for the father and son in the Marijuana plantations case is yet to be announced.
