Three men who are allegedly responsible for the death of a 39-year-old man in April will stand trial in Hamburg from Tuesday. According to the public prosecutor's office on Friday, the defendants are accused of joint murder and robbery resulting in death. The trial is taking place at the district court.

According to the police, the three men initially drank alcohol and took drugs together with the 39-year-old in April. During this time, the men are said to have secretly mixed methadone into the victim's drink. The 39-year-old man then died of an overdose in the apartment of one of the accused. The men - according to earlier police reports, a German, a Serb and a Syrian - then allegedly took the wristwatch and cash.

The following day, according to the public prosecutor's office, the accused forced their way into the 39-year-old's home. There they allegedly stole the keys to the apartment and vehicle, cell phones, business documents and technical equipment.
