- Farmworker Loses Consciousness Due to Manure, Collides With House's Exterior Wall
A dude from Nieblum, in the island of Föhr (North Friesland district), passed out because of hydrogen sulfide gas and smashed his tractor with a trailer into a residential structure's wall. The incident's investigation at the end of July revealed that the fellow mismanaged his vehicle, swerving off the road to the right, as reported by the cops. It was disclosed that he inhaled the gas while filling his trailer.
The authorities recreated the scenario on the farmer's land during their investigation. They found a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide gas, which can induce initial poisoning symptoms even with a few breaths.
The farmer only suffered minor wounds in the mishap. Additionally, there was substantial property damage, with the house's wall crumbling and the vehicle's front penetrating the building.
The report concluded that the following statement should be added to the safety guidelines for trailer filling: "Always avoid inhaling hydrogen sulfide gas and ensure proper ventilation during the filling process."
To prevent similar incidents, the local council proposed adding warning signs near the residential area, indicating the presence of hazardous gases in the vicinity.
