Customs - Farmers go on a lights tour with tractors

A convoy of around one hundred illuminated tractors rolled through the town of Lindlar in the Bergisches Land region on Friday evening. The participating farmers wanted to draw attention to the hardships and importance of their profession and bring light into the darkness of the season. On the tour through districts of the municipality with more than 20,000 inhabitants, the tractors passed two retirement homes, a school and a kindergarten. According to the organizer, a farmer from Lindlar, 120 farmers and their machines were registered for the tour.

The tractor tour was organized for the fifth time. The background was also to draw attention to the concerns of farmers and the importance for the general public. A banner with the text: "Without agriculture you would be hungry, naked and sober" was hung on a tractor. One participant said that, among other things, the requirements for the construction of stables and increasing bureaucracy were a burden. Many people knew very little about the work of farmers. They are dependent on the weather and have to go out every day. You can't work from home either.

Tractor light drives have been organized by farmers during Advent for several years.
