Farmers - Farmers' demo in Berlin passes without incident

The farmers' demonstration in Berlin on Monday passed off without incident or traffic jams. However, some farmers are said to have dumped their manure on the street, the police reported in the afternoon.

According to the organizers, 8,000 to 10,000 people took part in the demonstration at the Brandenburg Gate, and more than 3,000 tractors are said to have rolled into the capital. According to the police, however, there were only 6600 participants and 1700 tractors.

Thousands of farmers mobilized in Berlin on Monday against the federal government in protest against the planned abolition of tax breaks.
