Bid farewell by a brass band and the Olympic mascot, numerous German athletes embarked on their journey home together. Accompanied by Nena's "99 Red Balloons" and the French classic "Aux Champs-Élysées," the athletes boarded the special train adorned with black, red, and gold flags at Paris' Gare du Nord for their "welcome home" journey to Cologne.

In the Rhine city of Cologne, a group photo and a reception by Mayor Henriette Reker are planned for the early afternoon. Then, the athletes will continue their individual journeys home. The Summer Games in the French capital came to an end with the closing ceremony the previous night.

Upon reaching Cologne, the athletes were eager for the planned group photo and reception by Mayor Henriette Reker. Post the celebration, they looked forward to their return journeys, marking the end of their memorable Summer game experiences in Paris.
