Bundesliga - Farewell to Finnbogason: "A lot achieved for the FCA"
FC Augsburg will bid farewell to its record goalscorer Alfred Finnbogason (34) ahead of the Bundesliga home game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday (7.30pm/DAZN). "As the record goalscorer in FCA Bundesliga history, Alfred Finnbogason has achieved a great deal for FCA, so we are all the more delighted that his match schedule has finally made a visit to the WWK ARENA possible after several attempts," said managing director Michael Ströll.
Icelander Finnbogason scored 37 Bundesliga goals for FC Augsburg between 2016 and 2022. After failing to secure a new contract with the Fuggerstädter, he moved to Lyngby BK. He is currently under contract with KAS Eupen in Belgium. "He's done a lot for the club," said current Augsburg coach Jess Thorup in praise of former crowd favorite Finnbogason.
