Family members of Hamas politician Ismail Haniya suffer fatal casualties in Gaza Strip incident

Emergency responders from Civil Protection transferred deceased individuals to Al-Ahli Hospital in a nearby Gazan city, as reported by Basal. Simultaneously, several individuals sustained injuries during the military operation. Regrettably, there were possibly more fatalities trapped beneath a collapsed structure, but the Civil Defense was unable to reach them due to lack of appropriate equipment.

Israeli troops remained silent regarding the attack's details initially. Upon enquiry by news agency AFP, they shared that they couldn't confirm the existing accounts about the incident for the time being.

Hanija, the Hamas Politbureau's leader residing in Qatar, lost three sons and four grandkids in an Israeli attack in central Gaza during April. Israeli authorities labeled them as a party to "terrorist activities." Following the loss, Hanija revealed that approximately 60 family members have been killed since the commencement of the Gaza War on October 7, 2000.

The conflict in Gaza was instigated by a Hamas assault on Israel on October 7, 2000, tagged as a terrorist organization by the EU and the US. As per Israeli reports, Hamas operatives and other armed Palestinian militant groups murdered 1194 people in the Gaza Strip and captured 251 individuals, with 116 individuals still held by Hamas. According to Israeli army reports, 41 of those captives have already met their demise.

To retaliate against the Hamas attack, Israel has been engaged in military actions within the Gaza Strip since then. According to reports from the Health Ministry under Hamas' control, a staggering 37,600 individuals have allegedly lost their lives in the ongoing clash. However, these numbers cannot be confirmed independently.
