Weather - Falling water levels: Flood situation ends on Sunday

The water levels in Bavaria's waterways continue to fall towards the weekend. The flood situation has eased and will largely end with the dry weather on Sunday, according to the Flood Information Service (HND) on Saturday. Melting snow and rain had caused the levels of some bodies of water in Bavaria to rise rapidly since the end of last week. Official warnings were issued at times, particularly on the Danube and its southern tributaries.

Saturday will remain partly cloudy in Franconia and Lower Bavaria, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). In the rest of the state, it will be partly cloudy with sunny spells. Temperatures will range from two to eight degrees. According to the DWD, it will be sunny in Franconia on Sunday afternoon and in the foothills of the Alps in the morning. Temperatures will rise slightly to highs of around eleven degrees. On Monday, people in Bavaria can also look forward to rays of sunshine once the partly thick fog has lifted.
