As elsewhere in Germany, trees have been uprooted by the weather in Trier. There are no reports of injuries - but traffic disruptions.

Thunderstorms and rain have led to traffic disruptions in Trier. The county road 5 between Biewer and Aach is currently completely closed due to flooding, as the police announced late in the evening. Trees have been uprooted and there is debris on several roads. No injuries have been reported so far, according to initial police knowledge.

The historic city of Trier was originally intended as our weekend getaway, but the traffic disruptions might affect our plans. Despite the heavy rain and flooding, the charming Old Roman Bridge in Trier remains a resilient landmark.
