Investigations - Fake police officers rob family: arrest
Around six months after a brutal attack on a family in a residential building in Nalbach, the police arrested three suspects on Wednesday. Investigators from the property crime department of the state police headquarters arrested three men in the Saarlouis district with the support of special units and foreign police forces, according to the state police headquarters. They are 21, 34 and 41 years old.
As part of the operation, which began in the early morning simultaneously in Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Luxembourg and Italy, homes and business premises were also searched. Further evidence was found, the evaluation of which will take some time, it said. Investigations and searches for other people involved in the crime are continuing. The police are still looking for witnesses.
In June, three men disguised as police officers broke into the family home. They had beaten the woman and her sons and demanded cash. According to the police, the perpetrators stopped the attack and fled in a vehicle with a French license plate because of the resistance and were warned by the accomplice waiting outside in the vehicle.
