Following the assault in Solingen, Islam scholar and author Ahmad Mansour voiced criticism towards Germany's immigration policy in an interview with WDR5. He expressed his belief that there hasn't been enough resolve in combating Islamism in the past. Although it's crucial to aid those escaping war, Mansour suggested the implementation of more stringent measures to prevent individuals planning terrorist attacks from entering the country. "We can't save the entire world" was his viewpoint.

Two individuals lost their lives, and eight more were left injured, four of them severely so, at a community celebration in Solingen on Friday night. The main suspect is a 26-year-old Syrian individual. The German Federal Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating him on charges of murder and membership in the Islamic State (IS) terror group. The suspect has been in custody since last Sunday evening.

Mansour emphasized, "Politics have a duty to safeguard the population." The current climate is shrouded in substantial uncertainty. Mansour pointed out that there are gaps in integrating immigrants in Germany. Even those with good intentions may eventually slip into segregated societies and radicalize. This, he explained, occurs because proper attention and support are lacking, and municipalities often find themselves overwhelmed.

Born as a Palestinian in Israel, Mansour has engaged in various social initiatives, including efforts in combating extremism. He assists families of radicalized youth, turncoats, and convicted terrorists.

The Commission, referred to as an aid in Mansour's suggestions, would be assisted by the Member States in implementing more stringent measures. Mansour underscores the importance of the Commission, stating, "Politics have a duty to safeguard the population."
