Knife attack - Expert witness to testify in Brokstedt trial
In the trial surrounding the fatal knife attack on a regional train near Brokstedt, the testimony of a medical expert is expected on Tuesday (trial starts at 9.30 am). So far, more than 60 witnesses have already testified, including witnesses to the attack, passengers who were injured, police officers and rescue workers. They have repeatedly described the brutal events from their perspective in vivid words.
The accused is Palestinian Ibrahim A. The public prosecutor's office accuses him of attacking passengers with a knife on a train from Kiel to Hamburg near Brokstedt on January 25, 2023. Two young people died, a 17-year-old woman and her boyfriend, who was two years older. Four other people - two women and two men - suffered serious injuries. According to current plans, the trial will continue into the spring.
